Nine Ravens Score in Double Figures as #8 Coffeyville Defeat the Southwestern JV 116-62 in Season Opener
Coffeyville, Kan. - In opening their 2025-26 season, the Coffeyville Red Raven Men's Basketball Team had 9 players score in double figures as the Red Ravens defeated the Southwestern College JV 116-62.
Led by freshman guard Tyson Tucker, who poured in 18 points (7-8 overall, including 3-3 from beyond the arc), the Red Ravens cruised to the easy victory. Freshman forward Ulysses Webb and sophomore Rashid Kuta added significant scoring punch, with Webb tallying 14 points on an impressive 6-8 shooting and Kuta chipping in 14 points and five rebounds. Rounding out the Red Raven starting five included sophomore Kanstantin Popovic (12 points) and Daniel Ntambwe (10 points)
Coffeyville shot an outstanding 62.7% from the field and 53.8% from three-point range, showcasing their shooting prowess. The Red Ravens also dominated the rebounding battle with 47 boards to Southwestern's 21, providing second-chance opportunities and limiting Southwestern's chances.
The team's depth was on display, with contributions from reserves like freshman Tristan Walton (12 points), freshman Wamba Ngouateu (10 points), freshman Jack Sorrell (10 points), and Jeremiah Ibeziako (13 points).
Coffeyville will return to action on Tuesday, November 4th, with a home matchup against the Fort Scott Greyhounds. Tipoff in Nellis Gymnasium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
