#22 Coffeyville Rolls Over the Colby Trojans 93-68
Coffeyville, Kan. - The #22-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball team will head into the holiday break with a 93-68 victory over the Trojans of Colby Community College. With the victory, Coffeyville improves its overall record to 10-3, including a 5-3 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups. The 5-3 KJCCC record currently has Coffeyville in sixth place (one game out of first) in the tight 13-team KJCCC Division I Men's standings.
Against Colby, the Red Ravens pulled away in the second half to earn a convincing 93–68 victory. The Red Ravens led 39–31 at halftime before erupting for 54 points after the break to put the game out of reach.
Red Raven sophomore Daniel Ntambwe paced Coffeyville with a game and career high 23 points on an efficient 8-of-14 shooting, adding seven rebounds and three assists. Freshman Ke'Bari Lewis provided a big lift off the bench, scoring 18 points while knocking down three 3-pointers and going 7-of-8 at the free-throw line. Freshman Jack Sorrell added 10 points, while Wamba Ngouateu and Rashid Kuta chipped in eight points apiece. Kuta also grabbed seven rebounds, helping Coffeyville dominate the glass.
Coffeyville controlled the rebounding battle 52–37 and moved the ball well, finishing with 18 assists. The Red Ravens also capitalized at the free-throw line, shooting 85.2 percent (23-of-27), compared to Colby's 71.4 percent (10-of-14).
The Red Ravens will return after the holiday break with a home non-conference game scheduled on Saturday, January 3rd, against the Roadrunners of State Fair Community College. Tipoff in Nellis Hall is planned for 2:00 p.m.
