#18 Red Ravens Open 2026 With A 84-73 Victory Over State Fair CC
Coffeyville, Kan. - The #18 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team opened its new year with an 84-73 home victory over the Roadrunners of State Fair Community College. With the victory, Coffeyville improves its overall record to 11-3, including a 6-3 mark in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchups.
The game started as a back-and-forth affair until about the 10-minute mark of the first half, when the Red Ravens pulled in front for good. Coffeyville led by 10 at halftime (44-34), and led by as many as 25 (65-40) with 11:56 to go in the game. The Roadrunners closed the gap down the stretch with Coffeyville earning the eventual 84-73 victory.
Coffeyville was led by freshman Ke'Bari Lewis, who contributed a career high 24 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting from behind the arc, including a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Lewis's offensive output was complemented by key performances from sophomore Rashid Kuta with a 15-point and 11-rebound double-double and freshman Jeremiah Ibeziako, who added 11 points.
As a team, Coffeyville shot 39.7% from the field, including 12-for-36 behind the arc (33%), and were highly effective at the free-throw line, converting 22 of 29 attempts (75%).
Defensively, Coffeyville limited State Fair's shooting opportunities and forced 18 turnovers. The Ravens also dominated the rebounding battle, securing 53 boards to State Fair's 35.
Coffeyville will return to action on Wednesday, January 7th, with a road KJCCC matchup against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons. Tipoff in Hutchinson is set for 7:30 p.m.
