#18 Red Ravens Rally for Comeback Win over Pratt
Coffeyville, Kan. - The #18 NJCAA-ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens were able to rally from an early 20-point deficit, coming from behind to defeat the Beavers of Pratt Community College, 87-80 in overtime.
Pratt converted on nine three-pointers in the first half, and raced out to an early 24-4 lead six minutes into the game. CCC would trim the deficit to seven at halftime, and take their first lead since the game's opening minute midway through the second half.
The Ravens buckled down in the extra frame, outscoring the Beavers 10-3, and moving to a 12-4 record on the season, with a 6-4 league mark. Coffeyville is tied with Cowley for fifth in the KJCCC, one game behind the four-way tie at the top of Seward County, Butler, Dodge City, and Independence. Eleven teams in the KJCCC D1 men's standings currently sit within three games of first place.
Freshman forward Ulysses Webb had 27 points on 9-11 shooting, along with nine rebounds. Freshman Jack Sorrell finished with 18 points and five rebounds, including seven points in overtime. Freshman Tyson Tucker finished with 10 points and seven assists.
The Red Ravens travel back to Nellis Hall for a pair of home games this week. They will battle the Fort Hays Tech NW Tigers on Thursday evening.
