Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team defeated the Broncbusters of Garden City 3-1. With the loss, the Red Ravens improved their 2024 overall record to 3-9-4 including a 2-6-2 record in KJCCC conference matches.
Red Raven freshman Jacob Shaw opened the scoring as he took an assist from Kanata Takahashi and deposited it into the back of the net to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead midway through the first half.
Early in the second half, Red Raven freshman Andres Pereira, with an assist from Alaa Kodi, headed a goal for the Ravens to give Coffeyville a 2-0 lead early in the second half.
Coffeyville struck for a third time as freshman Kanata Takahashi, assisted by David Castaneda, netted a right-footed kick to the left side of the goal past the goalkeeper for the score to put Coffeyville up 3-0 with 18 minutes left in the match.
Garden City pushed a goal in with six minutes remaining as the final score had the Ravens winning 3-1.
Coffeyville returns to action with a road trip to Seward County on Wednesday, October 23rd. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
