Red Raven Men's Soccer Opens Its Season With a 3-1 Road Victory Over Rich Mountain

Mena, Ark. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team opened up their 2025 season with a 3-1 victory over the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Bucks.

Coffeyville's offensive pressure was evident early in the season opener, with the Red Ravens recording a total of 16 shots, including 7 on goal.  Red Raven sophomore forward Jacob Shaw led the Ravens with two goals—one in the first half and another in the second—both unassisted, setting the tone early. Sophomore Fabrizio Kasperiski added a crucial goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Jacob Shaw, sealing the 3-1 win for the Ravens.

The team's defense held strong against Rich Mountain's efforts, allowing only 7 shots and just one goal in the 84th minute. Coffeyville's sophomore goalkeeper Ryuta Mitome was excellent, making 5 saves and earning the 3-1 victory in 90 minutes of work.

Coffeyville will return to action with its home opener scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Stadium against the Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Jets.
