Ravens and Conquistadors Play to a 1-1 Draw

Dodge City, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team played the Dodge City Conquistadors to a 1-1 draw.  With the draw, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 4-3-4, including a 0-1-4 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference matchups.

Dodge City opened the scoring late in the first half, with David Garcia converting unassisted at 33:52 to give the Conquistadors a 1-0 lead. Coffeyville responded in the second half, pressing offensively to find an equalizer. Their persistence paid off when freshman Amin Jouali netted the equalizer at 87:48, assisted by Ivanytskyy Lev and Diego Mejia, earning the Ravens a valuable point in the standings with the draw.

On the stat sheet, Coffeyville demonstrated a strong defensive effort, limiting Dodge City to just 8 shots, with 4 on target, and forcing several turnovers. The Red Raven goalkeeper, sophomore Tsubasa Nakamura, made three saves to keep the team in contention. Offensively, Coffeyville produced 16 shots, with key contributors including sophomores Diego Mejia, Kanata Takahashi, and Atila Chagas.

Coffeyville returns to action with a road contest in Neosho, Missouri, against Crowder College on Monday, October 6th.  Kickoff set for 6:00 p.m.
