Raven Softball Ignited by Improved Offense
Coffeyville, Kan. - Coffeyville Community College Red Raven softball has experienced exponential growth on the field so far in the 2026 season, and a large reason for the success is the improved numbers in the batter's box.
The Red Ravens have scored 134 runs across 24 games this season, including 25 runs in the first four conference games. The program scored 135 total runs across a 40-game schedule last season.
All of the major offensive numbers are up, with the program boasting a .315 batting average, .392 on-base percentage, .474 slugging percentage, and 19 team home runs. These numbers are compared to a .278 batting average, .333 on-base percentage, .367 slugging percentage, and 13 team home runs in 2025.
Sophomore Kaylee Henderson, who is currently second in the conference with 8 home runs, says the team has embraced a more detailed hitting approach this season.
In the middle of the action in terms of reaching base and collecting hits is sophomore outfielder Raya Eilert, who ranks fourth in the conference with a .474 batting average. She says there is a more aggressive mentality when in the box compared to last year.
The Red Ravens have also seen plenty of freshmen make an immediate impact, with Rylee Bankston, Gabrielle Simmons, Scarlett Archuletta, and Alyssa Moore all receiving regular playing time. Freshman Emma Lara, who ranks second on the team in hits and home runs, says the confidence of the group is growing with each inning.
Coffeyville is back at home for two doubleheaders next week, hosting Connors State on Tuesday, April 7th, and hosting Labette County on Thursday, April 9th.
