Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Basketball Team opened its 2025-26 season with a dominant 91-32 victory over the Bethany JV.
The Red Ravens' offense was clicking on all cylinders, with freshman guard Esme Smith leading the charge with 18 points, including a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Sophomore forward Aubrey Hishaw also had a standout night, contributing 15 points as well as a team-high 8 rebounds, and sophomore Sh'Ryah Wright added a spark off the bench with 14 points. As a team, Coffeyville shot 41% from the field in their opening game.
Defensively, Coffeyville caused an eye-popping 31 turnovers and controlled the glass, finishing with 55 rebounds to Bethany's 29.
Coffeyville will return to action on Tuesday, November 4th, with a home matchup against the Cardinals of Labette Community College. Tipoff in Nellis Gymnasium is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
