Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College women's basketball team was unable to find consistent offense in a road trip to Colby, falling to the Trojans 65-46 on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Ravens experienced shooting struggles for a majority of the day, shooting just 35% from the field, and just 3-of-14 from behind the 3-point line. CCC also came up short in the rebound battle, and committed 14 turnovers in their sixth loss of the season.
Sophomore Dessirae Ulmer of Colby led the team with a game-high 22 points, as the Trojans shot 46% from the field and 44% from behind the arc.
Esme Smith led the Red Ravens with 12 points, with Aubrey Hishaw and Mahogany Butler each adding 10 points. Hallie Kitchen had eight points and seven rebounds, and Sh'Ryah Wright added six points off the bench. No other Raven scored in the loss.
Coffeyville drops to 19-7 on the season, and 13-7 in league play. The team still holds the fourth-place position in the conference standings, leading by one game over Seward County after the Saints' loss to Butler.
The Ravens are off this Wednesday, and return to action Saturday afternoon at Nellis Hall, when they host the Hutchinson Blue Dragons.
