Coffeyville, Kan. - The #20 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer team was defeated by #12 ranked Barton Community College Cougars 4-0. With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record falls to 9-3-1 including a 5-2-1 record in KJCCC matchups.
Coffeyville came into this one looking to pick up a victory over a quality NJCAA ranked opponent, however, three first-half goals by the Cougars of Barton proved too much to overcome for the Red Ravens. Coffeyville gave up goals at thirteen, thirty, and forty minutes of the first half to go into halftime down 3-0 in the NJCAA-ranked matchup.
The second half had the Ravens pushing the offense and Barton sitting back in a defensive position defending their 3-0 lead. Barton was able to net another goal late in the match scoring at the eighty-fifth minute to bring to final score to 4-0 for Barton.
Coffeyville looks to bounce back with their next outing scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th against the Neosho County Panthers. Kick-off in Chanute Kansas is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
