Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team lost at home 3-0 to the Grizzlies of Butler Community College. With the loss, the Red Ravens fall to 1-7-1 on the season.
The Ravens' defense held strong early, but Butler's offensive pressure paid off in the 29th minute when Charlotte Long found the back of the net off an assist from Naho Yamamura, giving the Grizzlies an early 1-0 lead. Later in the first half, Butler doubled their advantage as Wendy Zamudio scored just before halftime, pushing the score to 2-0.
In the second half, Butler continued their attack. Charlotte Long scored her second goal unassisted in the 67th minute, sealing the victory for the Grizzlies. Despite facing a significant deficit, Coffeyville's defense remained resilient, with Red Raven sophomore goalkeeper Macy Lemke making 13 saves on a busy night.
Offensively, the Ravens struggled to generate scoring opportunities, managing only one shot on goal throughout the match.
