Coffeyville, Kan. - A strong first half powered the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Soccer Team to a 3-0 victory over the Saints of Seward County. With the victory, the Red Ravens improved their overall record to 5-3-5 and added their first KJCCC victory to improve their conference record to 1-1-4.
Right from the kickoff, Coffeyville set the tone. Red Raven sophomore Fabrizio Kasperiski opened the scoring with an assist from freshman Reo Suzuki at the very start of the game, giving Coffeyville an early 1-0 lead. Not long after, freshman Ivanytskyy Lev doubled the Ravens' lead with a goal assisted by sophomore Jacob Shaw, putting Coffeyville comfortably ahead 2-0 midway through the first half. Sophomore Hugo Martins wrapped up the scoring with a beautiful finish, assisted by freshman Samuel Montero, to give the Ravens a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Coffeyville's defense held strong throughout the second half, limiting Seward County's opportunities and recording a clean sheet, with sophomore goalkeeper Tsubasa Nakamura making four crucial saves as Coffeyville earned the 3-0 defeat of Seward County.
The Ravens will travel to Iola, Kansas, for their next match as they will battle against the Red Devils of Allen County on Tuesday, October 14th, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
