Hutchinson, Kan. - The #15 ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team lost a tough road game in overtime to the Hutchinson Blue Dragons 2-1. With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record falls to 8-2-1 including a 4-1-1 record in KJCCC matchups.
Hutchinson applied the pressure quickly to the Red Ravens as the Blue Dragons netted a goal just 4:43 into the match. Coffeyville regrouped and the Ravens' defense stiffened up with no more goals allowed by Hutchinson for the remainder of regulation.
Coffeyville was able to knot the score with Red Raven freshman sensation Thayline Teixeira scoring an unassisted goal at the 35th minute of the second half to pull the score even at 1-1. Both teams had chances in the last 15 minutes of the match but the score remained tied at the end of regulation and went into a ten-minute overtime period.
The Blue Dragons scored the game-winner just 1:47 into the extra period.
Coffeyville will look to rebound with a home match set for Wednesday, September 28th against the Cavaliers of Johnson County. Kick-off is set for 5:00 pm in Veterans Memorial Stadium.
