Red Ravens Rally to Defeat the Pirates of Indy 3-1
Coffeyville, Kan. - After dropping the first set, the Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Volleyball Team bounced back to win the next three sets and defeat the Pirates of Independence three sets to one. With the victory, Coffeyville improves its overall record to 10-13 on the season.
The match kicked off with Independence taking the first set 21-25. Coffeyville responded in the second set, rallying back to win 27-25, leveling the match and setting the stage for a decisive third and fourth set.
In the third set, Coffeyville dominated with a commanding 25-15 performance, fueled by key offensive contributions from freshmen Prayer Roebuck and Ava Ashcroft. Both players displayed strong attacking presence, combining for 24 kills and 16 points. The team carried this momentum into the fourth set, closing out the match with a 25-23 victory.
Offensively, Coffeyville was led by Prayer Roebuck, who tallied 10 kills on 24 attempts, posting a .333 attack percentage. Ava Ashcroft also contributed significantly with 15 kills and a .211 attack percentage, providing a reliable offensive option throughout the match. Freshman Lauren Crotinger added 17 assists and 2 digs, orchestrating the offense efficiently.
Coffeyville will return to action on Saturday, September 27th, with matches at 1:00 pm (vs Dallas College Mountain View) and 5:00 pm (JBU) in Nellis Hall.
