Hutchinson, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Women's Soccer Team fought hard through the first half, however, the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson pushed through the Raven defense scoring four goals in the first twelve minutes of the second half on their way to the 6-1 defeat of the Ravens. With the loss, the Red Ravens' overall record moves to 4-10 on the season.
After the quick four goals from Hutchinson, the Red Ravens were able to close the gap with a goal from sophomore Thayline Teixeira (assist from sophomore Nathalia Luiz) to pull within 4-1 with 24 minutes of game time left. Hutchinson went on to score the final two goals of the match in the 6-1 defeat of the Ravens.
Coffeyville will return to action on Saturday, October 14th with a home Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) match against the #16 NJCAA-ranked Cowley Tigers with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Coffeyville will be celebrating their sophomore athletes with their "Sophomore Night" celebration after the contest.
