Red Ravens Earn Sweep Over NEO in First Home Match of the Season

Coffeyville, Kan. - In their 10th match of the season, The Coffeyville Community  College Red Raven Volleyball Team finally got some home cooking as they defeated cross-state rival NEO 3-0 in their opening match of the season in Nellis East.  With the victory, Coffeyville improved their 2023 overall record to 3-7.

Coffeyville pounced early in the match taking the first set 25-9.  NEO had a little more fight in the second set, however, the Red Ravens still managed to earn the 25-14 set victory.  By the third set, Coffeyville had taken the fight out of NEO and the Red Ravens easily took the set 25-8 for the 3-0 sweep of the Lady Norsmen.

Red Raven sophomore Sarah Madsen led the Ravens racking up 13 kills in the match to go along with 6 digs.  Sophomore Macie Wayne totaled 8 kills with freshman Madison Grekstas, freshman Emily Brannan, and sophomore Laihla Felder all posting 7 kills each in the match.

Coffeyville will return to action with a home match scheduled for Monday, September 4th against Seminole State College.  First-serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Nellis Gymnasium.
